For just plain simple block some adds maybe the UniFi tool is good enough for some people, but on my network I like having the visibility and control of the PiHole.Everything is pushed towards the middle, so you see something with reduced dynamic range, but you also see a lot more detail in the dark areas. Ubiquiti cameras generally have low quality, smaller image sensors than comparable cameras.It's kind of too bad the weatherproofing on these is only NEMA type 3R rather than type 4. Plenty of other (cheaper and run-of-the-mill) EVSEs are type 4. Type 3R means it's not rated to withstand heavy rain, so it's only OK under an overhang. Type 4 can be fully-exposed to the elements. I went with the UVC-G3-Pro, a CloudKey Gen2 + and the UniFi Switch 8 POE-150W. I found the setup to be relatively simple and everything was installed in a very short time. All of the related equipment has performed flawlessly.The cameras, for decent megapixel, 1080 and variable focus are around $125 and newer versions have a mic built in. Newer versions also have digital throw and zoom where as older versions were set screws and a pain to tighten a great image. Quality wise, I can't complain about either, I like both. Here is the rub. You are correct, you get the 6ghz band that can be used for more speed or a duplex connection. So your device could send and receive at once, like Ethernet. Not as good of course, but a lot better than otherwise. You only need a 2.5gig+ switch to take advantage of WiFi 6e speeds, you will get the benefits of the 6ghz band regardless. U7's are a bit cheaper and will support all my 6E devices. I have nothing that can utilize 4x4 antenna so the 2x2 will do just fine. The U7's still have a 2.5Gbe uplink. Most of the "complexity" is in the initial setup and you can find documentation and scripts to use in the Mikrotik Wiki and other sources. This alone is already 2x throughput difference. However, UniFi AP users are more likely to have multiple APs, and therefore, they maybe at a risk of own interference when improperly deployed. So 40 MHz on 5 GHz radio reduce that risk ...A little research, and it looks like this is how the APs do auto-meshing, so in theory, just disabling "Meshing" under each AP's settings in the Controller, and then under Settings > System > Advanced > Wireless Networking, disable the options for "Wireless Meshing" and "New WiFi Device Auto-Link", and the hidden SSID should disappear.The unifi cams are well built but expensive for what you get. Also, when using RTSP for BI, the settings/customization are pretty lacking compared to most other cameras (clearly, their primary focus is on the unifi ecosystem, not 3rd party integration).
